French Saloon is an acclaimed bar and bistro nestled on the first floor above Kirk’s Wine Bar in Melbourne’s bustling Hardware Lane, offering an elevated European dining experience. It channels the timeless elegance and decadence of a traditional Parisian bistro with a contemporary Melbourne sensibility.

The room itself is gorgeous, featuring a zinc-topped bar imported from France, bentwood chairs, scuffed white timber floors, and a striking red ceiling, creating a light-filled, warm, and inviting atmosphere. This versatile space caters to all types of events, including cocktail parties, intimate dining, corporate events and exclusive weddings.

  • Bookings are accepted on a “first-come, first-served” basis, and we do not hold tentative bookings. Bookings are confirmed once a contract has been signed and the deposit has been paid.
